Rampant Lion Trust Fund

The Past Pupils Association is proud that Howick High School is considered to be one of the top educational schools in the KZN Midlands and, in light of the many hardships facing today’s state schools, it is through community support that schools such as Howick High not only maintain their standard but continue to improve.

For a town to be successful it needs top quality schools.  A town with a school like Howick High (listed as one of the top 100 schools in South Africa) provides an obvious benefit for all residents and businesses.  Public spirited people, who care about our town and community, are therefore working together to ensure that our school, Howick High, goes from strength to strength.

Howick High’s first Head Boy, Paul van der Riet (Class of 1969), approached the Past Pupils Association to assist with the formation of a trust fund to support Howick High School financially.

The goal is to ensure that the school can continue to play a positive role in shaping the lives of young men and women, many of whom have made great achievements over the years.

The objective of the trust is to provide funds, when available, to enhance education, sporting, cultural and social activities.  This may take the form of scholarships, grants, donations, loans or any form of assistance to pupils of the school or the general funding of the school.

The trust has been started and has received a number of donations of R5000 or more.  The first 100 donor’s names have been entered into a register of Founder Trust Members.

Donations can be made in the name of a past pupil or a group of family members (brothers and sisters or husband and wife, etc).   In addition, any person or business making a donation to the trust at any time for whatever value, will be registered as a ‘Supporter of Howick High’.

The Trust is currently in the process of being registered with SARS and will be in a position to issue a Donation Tax Receipt.

If you would like to be a donor, please contact the Trust Administrators by emailing trustfund@howickhigh.co.za or telephone Howick High on 033 330 2858 and provide your contact details.

You can also download the Pledge Form here and either post, fax or deliver your completed and signed pledge to Howick High School (details are on the form).
